Exploring the myth of ‘I’

Who am ‘I’?

What defines me or my individuality?

How would you describe yourself? Tall or short; slim or fat; dark or fair; introverted or extroverted; pretty or plain?

Who do you think you are? And are you really what you think yourself to be?

Much to my surprise many beautiful women I have met seriously think themselves to be ugly!

It’s not really what you are but what you perceive yourself to be.

You are what you are but it’s the perception of it which matters more- which is as unique as you are.

That is how siblings growing in the same environment turn out to be poles apart from one another.. They perceive different!

Ask yourself what is the underlying dominant feeling you have about yourself which you carry with you almost always.

It’s this feeling which sets your boundaries for you – which decides the limit that you have set for yourself.

It’s the opinions you have, the beliefs you form and principles you adhere to which hold you and imprison you.

You may say that you are a particular type of person but what you’re actually saying is that you are defined by those particular thoughts!
I have met many people who carry about their ‘personalities’ like a trophy in their minds.

Mobile only to some extent and vision only from a certain angle!

Aren’t these chains which allow no fluidity?

A pity!  For you miss out on that vast realm of possibilities which is alive and vibrant!

When we choose to step out of the shadows of rigidly held persona, we flow into this throbbing, vibrant uncertainty

Daring to trust, opening your heart, risking getting hurt, smiling whole heartedly at a stranger – You are free to BE!

With this confidence emerges simplicity; for there is no need for creating complexities to protect your so called persona.

You finally meet the child hidden in you!

It takes a lot of wisdom to keep this child alive in you.

Deep down in all of us he is waiting to surface.

Love and laugh and your face will shine with the simple joy of being
